AEW Draws Lowest Rating EVER

Tony Khan might have to think about where these AEW specials go from here.

AEW's Battle Of The Belts IV drew 317,000 viewers on TNT this past Friday night.

Showbuzz Daily reports that this is down 27.45% from BOTB III in August (437,000) and down 39.84% from BOTB II in April (527,000). Tony Khan won't like to hear that the fourth iteration of his mandated special is also down a whopping 54.97% from the 704,000 fans that tuned into the first episode in January.

Ouch.

Wrestlenomics has also reported significant drops in the key 18-49 demographic too. AEW's first Battle Of The Belts logged a 0.27 share in that demo, but the latest score was 0.10.

It's probably not surprising that BOTB has struggled. Reigning AEW World Champ Jon Moxley was missing from the most recent special, and the AEW World Title hasn't actually featured on one yet. Friday's show included bouts for the secondary All-Atlantic, TBS and ROH Tag-Team Titles instead.

All Elite's TV audience for these things has pretty much been sliced in half since they started, and that won't sit well with Khan. He has a job on his hands to make Battle Of The Belts feel like must-see programming.

Putting the World Title on one might be a start.
