Another week, another ratings triumph for All Elite Wrestling.

AEW Dynamite scored its second consecutive triumph over WWE NXT in terms of both overall viewership and the number that really matters, the key 18-49 demographic.

AEW's 29 April show attracted an average of 693,000 viewers across its two hours, representing a 5% decline on the previous week's 731,000. NXT, meanwhile, came in with a similar slide, posting an average viewership of 637,000 compared to 22 April's 665,000.

In terms of the demo, AEW increased from a 0.25 rating to 0.27, while NXT slid from 0.18 to 0.16. The WWE show is yet to outdo Dynamite on head-to-head weeks here.

The most disappointing part of these numbers is that the 1.33 million that watched live professional wrestling on Wednesday night is the second-lowest since the shows started facing off against each other back in October 2019. As pointed out by Figure Four Online's Paul Fontaine, the combined figure is even lower than AEW Dynamite's debut show on TNT did early in that month.

As we've seen with Raw and SmackDown as well, the Empty Arena Era isn't a draw at the moment, even with most other sports out of commission.
