AEW Dynamite's Ratings Beat WWE NXT For 5th Consecutive Week
Both shows were down on last week's numbers.
AEW Dynamite just beat WWE NXT's overall viewership for the fifth consecutive week in 2020, though both shows posted ratings declines.
Per Showbuzz Daily, Dynamite averaged 828,000 viewers across its two hours - a drop from the previous week's 871,000. NXT, meanwhile, fell by a similar percentage, drawing 712,000 for 29 January compared to 22 January's 769,000.
As far as the key 18-49 demographic goes, Dynamite scored a 0.34 rating while the WWE show sat at 0.22. AEW topped NXT in every single demo apart from 50+, as is often the case.
AEW's 2020 undefeated streak remains intact. NXT hasn't beaten Dynamite head-to-head since 18 December, when AEW delivered that disastrous Dark Order angle, though AEW's 828,000 is their lowest number of the year so far.
The figures aren't hugely surprising. Dynamite has the momentum in the ratings war at the moment though neither of this week's shows felt particularly well-marketed, so it'll be interesting to see how AEW and WWE pick up in that department.
Miz and Mrs. aired directly after NXT this Wednesday evening and drew just 437,000 viewers. This was the series' season two premiere and a huge collapse from the previous season's finale, which averaged 1.094 million back in August 2019.
