AEW Full Gear: 10 Things That Must Happen

8. Shawn Spears Destroys Joey Janela With A Steel Chair

Joey Janela can have all the '80s rockstar charisma he wants, he's still cannon fodder for a heel persona AEW should be interested in developing further. There's money in Tully Blanchard's association with Shawn Spears, and there's bank in Spears' 'Chairman' gimmick too.

That's why he needs to give Joey J a steel-laced beating at Full Gear.

Forget all this post-match heat crap for a second. Spears shouldn't lose with some crappy surprise roll up only to stiff the p*ss out of Janela with a chair after the bell. Nah, that's 50/50 nonsense that, again, has no place on pay-per-view in a company geared (fully geared?) towards conclusive, clear results.

Here, Blanchard should watch with pride as Spears deals with Janela, then grin like some twisted old git as he hands his man a chair and watches him go to town. Janela is best-suited to the underdog role anyway, and he won't be affected by losing to Spears.
