AEW Full Gear 2021: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True
1. CM Punk Heels On AEW
Does he have your attention now?
CM Punk exploded back onto the pro wrestling scene with that debut on the 20 August edition of Rampage. Since then, the comeback king has worked bouts against Darby Allin, Powerhouse Hobbs, Daniel Garcia, Matt Sydal and Bobby Fish.
Eddie Kingston is next in line, and this is defo the most-anticipated of the lot so far. Y'know what would spoil it? If AEW decided that Punk should stroll down memory lane by reliving his WWE "pipebomb" promo from 2011. The warning signs are there, because Punk has been acting pretty heelish/aloof in recent appearances.
It's a stretch, but what if he leaps on some of the annoyed reactions from AEW's faithful (towards cutting remarks he made about Kingston) and starts turning on the company as a whole? That'd blindside everybody, and it'd seem like a swerve for the sake of it.
Nobody let Vince Russo into the building on Saturday.
