Following reports yesterday that AEW Grand Slam Australia was expected to be moved from Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium, the event will now take place at the Brisbane Entertainment Center.

While AEW has yet to publicly comment on this topic, the AEW ticketing site has been updated to show the Brisbane Entertainment Center as the host for next year's Grand Slam special. The Brisbane Entertainment Center's website is also advertising AEW Grand Slam Australia, although tickets can't be purchased there as of this writing.

Similarly, those who have already purchased Grand Slam tickets have received the below email, informing them of the change of venue.

The Brisbane Entertainment Center isn't too far from Suncorp Stadium, with a quick search revealing 11.4 miles/18.4 kilometers between the two venues.

While Suncorp Stadium has a regular capacity of 52,000 and a record attendance of just under 60,000 - for a 2023 Ed Sheeran concert - the Brisbane Entertainment Center has an 11,000-seat setup and a maximum capacity of 13,601.

AEW Grand Slam Australia takes place on Saturday 15 February 2025, meaning it's sandwiched between Bryan Adams and Billie Eilish concerts at the Brisbane Entertainment Center.

It was announced during AEW All In 2024 that Tony Khan's promotion would be heading to Australia for its next Grand Slam event.

All four previous Grand Slam specials have taken place from New York City's Arthur Ashe Stadium in September of the past four years, with those specials being a two-headed affair consisting of a live Dynamite and a taped Collision. For Grand Slam Australia, that will be a singular show rather than follow the usual format.

It was initially stated that AEW Grand Slam Australia would be a pay-per-view event, but Tony Khan has more recently been non-committal on this topic due to the time difference between Australia and the United States.

As for ticket sales, The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer noted in September how sales at that point in time were "not good", although WrestleTix reported that initial VIP sales were encouraging. The seating map for Suncorp Stadium underwent several significant changes over time, with certain sections becoming totally untrackable.

While no matches are obviously known at this time for AEW Grand Slam Australia, AEW does have several Australian talents - such as Buddy Matthews, Kyle Fletcher, Mark Davis, Harley Cameron, and Australian-New Zealander Toni Storm - who'll all be eying a significant role at the event.
