Adam Cole’s time will come, because of course it will, but this is Hangman’s first pay-per-view title defence, and it must be a successful one. Taking the strap from him now would set his career back terribly, and it just shouldn't happen. It's as simple as that: Hangman must come out on top.

End scene.

Being brutally honest, there's a bit of an exhibition feel to this World Title match that doesn't sit well. It's definitely one of the weakest on the card in terms of build, but everyone watching knows they're guaranteed a good-to-great match anyway once the bell sounds.

AEW shouldn't focus too much on saving face here. Again, Cole's moment in the sun will happen at some point over the next 12 months or so. It's much more vital that Hangman gets a strong pay-per-view title defence under his belt and moves on.
