AEW Revolution 2024: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

One nightmare AEW swerve could ruin Sting's final night as a pro wrestler.

Welcome to a nightmare-filled deep dive on everything that could go wrong come AEW's next pay-per-view this weekend. This is big. No, it's really big. The company will play before a rowdy (and sizeable) live crowd in Greensboro's historic Coliseum on Sunday, and it's honestly crucial Tony Khan paints his product in the best light possible.

What if he doesn't?

Revolution will be Sting's final bow as an active pro wrestler. Fears AEW has booked him into a corner with this Tag Title run alongside pal Darby Allin are valid, as are concerns this is little more than another excuse to push The Young Bucks to the forefront of the division. Being fair, the brothers feel fresher due to a recent heel turn and the fact they're leaning heavily on real-life fallout from the fiery CM Punk fiasco.

Oops! That was almost some positivity there, but this collection of bitesized nightmares has no room for that. So, if you're ready for crummy retirements, swerves that'd make latter-day WCW blush, title changes nobody wants and more, then you've come to the right place.

Fingers crossed none of this actually happens.

10. This Premature Women’s Title Change

Look, Deonna Purrazzo is great, and she will have her day as AEW Women's Champion. Her timing isn't as deft as her in-ring skills though, because one Toni Storm is riding high as the deserved linchpin of a division that sorely needed someone just like her.

'Timeless' indeed - Toni is tremendous.

It'd feel a bit premature if Deonna swanned in and took the belt from Storm at Revolution. This is her first pay-per-view stab at the champ, and it's clear to see from scanning socials that some fans don't think Purrazzo should be losing so early on. Tough. She's in there with someone who deserves better than to be cast aside.

Long-term, Storm's quirky gimmick means she probs won't need the title anyway, but that's a while away yet. For now, it'd be a bit crap if Tony Khan pushed her away in favour of his shiny new hire. Patience, people. Deonna's time is coming eventually.
