AEW Revolution 2024: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

6. Will Ospreay’s Full-Time Debut Falls Flat

Don Callis explained away why Will Ospreay is fighting Family member Konosuke Takeshita by pretty much shrugging his shoulders and saying, "...because I say so". It's blatantly obvious what's happening here: Tony Khan fancies putting on a killer match and that's it. Logical storytelling be damned!

That could come back to haunt him.

Don Callis Family vs. Don Callis Family is an odd dynamic, especially for a group that's supposed to be some tight-knit unit rallying behind a despotic manager. It might've helped had Ospreay been available for a few more weeks of TV to properly build something here, but nope - it's AEW's latest "dream match" for the sake of it.

Will is clearly going to become a major player for the promotion, but he'll need more than exhibitions if he's going to headline Wembley in World Title showdowns. Story and character development are king and queen of the wrestling domain, which is something Tony needs to realise before it's too late.
