AEW Signs Free Agent HOSS

AEW adds former AAA talent to its roster.

Black Taurus AEW
AEW

The wrestler formerly known as Black Taurus is on his way to AEW.

Luchablog reports that the 36-year-old has landed an AEW/ROH deal following his AAA departure, which was confirmed last Thursday:

The Black Taurus name won't be coming with him, though. AAA, which owns the original Taurus gimmick, hadn't objected to him going by Black Taurus when it came to independent shows or merchandise, though the promotion was "less OK" with his AEW and ROH appearances under that name.

Luchablog notes that the wrestler behind the bull mask had prepared for his name and character to be modified by AEW, to avoid any legal issues. This, according to the report, is what will happen now.

Having previously performed as Taurus in AAA, the 36-year-old became Black Taurus upon leaving AAA, trademarking the name and outfit. Returning to AAA in 2018, he competed as Taurus there and Black Taurus when appearing elsewhere, including for IMPACT Wrestling/TNA (again, AAA hadn't objected to this).

Black Taurus worked El Hijo del Vikingo for ROH on 15 December 2023, then faced the same opponent at an AEW Rampage taping five days later. Now, it appears he is heading to Tony Khan's group of promotions full-time.
