AEW Signs Serena Deeb?

Deeb's recent Dynamite match with Thunder Rosa may have scored her a contract.

All Elite Wrestling has signed Serena Deeb on the strength of her recent match with Thunder Rosa, claimed Chris Jericho on a recent episode of his podcast, Talk Is Jericho.

Thunder Rosa was 'Le Champion's' guest on the show in question. "I've got the NWA Women's Champion, she had one hell of a debut on Dynamite last week in a great match against Serena Deeb," he said. "It actually got Serena signed, I believe."

Deeb wrestled Rosa on the 2 September episode of Dynamite. Ostensibly a warm-up match for the NWA wrestler ahead of her All Out clash with Hikaru Shida, Serena entered a characteristically smooth, crisp performance in her 10-minute losing role, leading for immediate calls for AEW to pick her up.

It was actually Serena's first match since July 2017, when she worked Piper Niven in that year's Mae Young Classic. Deeb was hired as a WWE Performance Center coach a few months after this and was working with the company through 15 April 2020, when she was let go as the group released and furloughed dozens of independent contractors, making Deeb a free agent.

Still only 34 years old, on the strength of her recent performance, it's clear Serena has plenty to offer AEW as a player and a coach.
