AEW Star Boldly Declares Himself The FUTURE Of Wrestling (AEW News)
Kyle Fletcher sees himself as the future of professional wrestling.
Never one to miss out on a chance to celebrate his greatness, AEW's Kyle Fletcher believes he's the future of professional wrestling.
Speaking to Catch Club (via f4wonline) prior to AEW All In - in an interview only published yesterday - the now-former International Champion was looking ahead to his own future and the wider future of the wrestling business.
As the Protostar said:
"I would say I am definitely, and you confirmed it to me, I am the future of professional wrestling. Right now, I'm the International Champion. Like you said, I've held a bunch of belts in the past, but this is only the start. I am 27 years old, and we have barely even scratched the surface. And I think if you start tuning in now, you are going to go on the ride of your life, because I have decades and decades at the top of the industry. AEW is where the best wrestle, and I plan on being the best of the best for a very long time to come."
While Kyle would lose that International Title to Don Callis Family cohort Kazuchika Okada at All In in a triple-threat bout also featuring Konosuke Takeshita, he's remained loosely in and around the International Title picture in the weeks since All In - all as Okada smugly reminds Fletcher about "family".
As for the future, the sky really is the limit for Kyle Fletcher. Despite still only being 27 years of age, the Australian is a 12-year veteran, making his in-ring debut in the summer of 2014 when he was just 15. In the best shape of his life and having well and truly broken out as a standout singles prospect in the past year or two, Kyle has a whole host of experience from across the globe, be that in his homeland, in Japan, in the United States, in Germany, in the UK, and, obviously, most importantly, in WCPW and Defiant. And if looking at who might be at the very top of the industry in a few years, Kyle Fletcher very much has to be in that conversation.
