AEW Star Claims He Turned Down The Masked Singer

Ex-WWE and current AEW star claims he knocked back FOX's Masked Singer.

Paul Wight's appearance on Renée Paquette's 'Oral Sessions' podcast was light-hearted and charming. In it, AEW's new hire laid out his plans for the future and seemed to put a bow on his WWE past. The pod maybe wasn't as negative or juicy as some would've liked, but it was still an enjoyable listen.

It also included this hidden gem of a story.

Wight told Renée that he turned down the chance to be on The Masked Singer show during his time with WWE. That's something Paquette couldn't believe, and no wonder - Wight's immense physical size may have made it easier for judges and fans to guess who was warbling beneath the mask.

Paul knocked producers back because he "can't hold a tune". He also can't dance to save himself (fans who witnessed his cosplay days as "Showkishi" could attest to that), and didn't want to be embarrassed on air.

So, Wight thanked The Masked Singer crew for getting in touch but said he'd give it a miss. Renée, perhaps envisioning how much of a goof her pal would've looked, was gutted that he didn't go for it.
