AEW Star Nearing Comeback After HORROR Injury
Having recovered WAY ahead of schedule, this AEW star is on the mend.
Dante Martin, who suffered one of 2023's most horrifying wrestling injuries at ROH Supercard of Honor back in March, is nearing a return.
Fightful Select reports that the Top Flight man was backstage at a recent AEW taping as he nears an in-ring comeback. There is currently no word on what he will be doing creatively upon returning - and Fightful hadn't heard of any plans for Martin - but it appears to be edging closer and closer.
ROH/AEW commentator Ian Riccaboni commented in July that Dante was recovering ahead of schedule. The high-flyer was hurt when taking a Canadian Destroyer through a table at Supercard of Honor, with his left leg visibly buckling beneath him, breaking instantly. Martin had to be stretchered out of the building, though the match was allowed to continue.
Dante's brother and Top Flight tag team partner, Darius, has continued wrestling for AEW and ROH in his sibling's absence. Though he has mostly been active on ROH, he has also moonlighted on AEW TV - including a recent Collision loss to Roderick Strong.
Top Flight signed with AEW in November 2020, doing so following a well-received match with The Young Bucks.
