Last night's AEW Collision saw the promotion seemingly start a new storyline revolving around Hologram and his evil clone.

Emanating from Philadelphia's famed 2300 Arena, Collision saw Hologram pick up a win over Jay Lethal, taking the masked man's win-loss record to an impressive 31-0. However, post-match, the lights briefly went out, and a video started playing. That video? It featured a bunch of computer code before we saw the words "CLON ACTIVATED" and "ACCESS GRANTED", and then we saw the image of what appears to be Hologram's villainous clone.

While this is the first time anything relating to this has been seen in AEW, the seeds were actually first sown at ROH Death Before Dishonor on Friday. Prior to Hologram and Tomohiro Ishii taking on the Premier Athletes at that PPV, there was some similar text saying "ACCESS DENIED" and showing a sad face emoji. But now, access has been granted, and a sinister Hologram double appears to be on the way.

Of course, clones, doubles, alternatives, etc., aren't a totally new concept to professional wrestling, with this something that's been fairly commonplace in Mexican wrestling over the decades. Added to that, there are examples such as Undertaker vs. Undertaker from WWE SummerSlam 1994, the whole Kane vs. Kane stuff of 2006, or Sin Cara vs. Sin Cara in 2011. And now, AEW is seemingly dabbling in the clone business.

It could always be that this is simply bringing a darker side to Hologram rather than actually debuting a straight-up Hologram clone, but the way that this has been framed so far, it certainly suggests we are indeed getting a Hologram double, El Clon.
