Darius Martin returned to AEW television for the first time in over a year last night, reuniting with brother Dante as Top Flight entered the show's Casino Tag Team Royale.

Dante and Darius were the second team to enter the match after FTR. Though Dante was eliminated before the end, Darius made it all the way to the final two after eliminating Nick Jackson. It came down to the Top Flight man and Matt Jackson in the end but while the layout teased Martin's victory with a well-worked sequence of exchanges, Nick ended up dumping him out, profiting from reDRagon and Brandon Cutler's presence at ringside.

The Young Bucks' victory means they advance to Revolution 2022, where they and reDRagon will challenge for Jurassic Express' AEW World Tag Team Titles in a three-way bout.

A torn ACL had kept Darius out of action since February 2021, which is when he wrestled his last match. The 22-year-old underwent surgery that April, commencing a long, gruelling rehabilitation process that culminated in last night's return.

In Darius' absence, Dante had climbed the ladder as a singles wrestler, establishing himself as a potential breakout star. The same could be said for Top Flight as a tandem prior to Darius' injury. Expect their upward trajectory to continue.
