AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2022: 10 Nightmares That Could Happen

9. Will Ospreay’s Arrival Gets Botched…Twice!

Tony Khan AEW Titles

It's not harsh to suggest that Will Ospreay's arrival in AEW was a bit sh*t compared to what it should've been like. The daredevil Englishman is one of wrestling's most exciting workers, but you wouldn't know that watching his debut in the promotion over the past couple of weeks.

Now, it's very doubtful that New Japan chiefs would agree to pump the IWGP US Title onto Orange Cassidy mere weeks after Ospreay won the thing at Dominion in Osaka, but that's not the point here. No, the nightmare outcome with this one is that Will doesn't show what he's fully capable of.

He's a show-stealing worker, but maybe not on Sunday.

Fingernails are already being chewed after AEW's lacklustre welcome for Ospreay. It'd be an outright disaster if his match vs. Cassidy breaks down into a comedy sideshow in the midcard that focuses more on Orange's lazy offence than the dynamic exchanges both men are fully capable of.
