AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door Pre-Sale Tickets Sell Out In 40 Minutes

Great business across the board for AEW and NJPW's Forbidden Door event.

The Forbidden Door ticket presale was a complete, objective success for All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

An initial batch of over 11,000 tickets was made available for early purchase on Thursday. Much of Chicago, Illinois' United Center was opened up at the time, with only one of the building's levels omitted (seemingly for general sale), and the seats were snapped up in less than 40 minutes.

Twitter was flooded with screenshots of would-be attendees stuck in a queue of longer than 2,000 people as soon as the presale opened. Not long after this, the tickets had all been snapped up.

Forbidden Door's general sale commences today (Friday) at 10 AM Central time. The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reports that a further 2,000 tickets will be made available - and predicts that they will be bought "instantly."

Taking place in Chicago, an AEW stronghold, on Sunday, 26 June, Forbidden Door is the first full-on collaborative event between Tony Khan's promotion and NJPW since their partnership was cemented in January 2021. No matches have been announced thus far, though the card is expected to be comprised primarily of NJPW vs. AEW bouts.
