A recent appearance on Sirius XM's Busted Open Radio saw AEW tag team FTR get asked about their time in WWE; specifically, their biggest frustrations while working for Vince McMahon's promotion.

The duo answered that WWE gave them a lot to be thankful for, stating that the promotion allowed them the opportunity for them and their families to enjoy comfortable lifestyles. If Dax Hardwood and Cash Wheeler stayed there, however, they felt like they'd be "spinning their wheels" forever. They claimed they didn't want to "sit back and relax" or "rest on their laurels" and instead want to make a mark on the sport, so they left for a company that would give them that chance.

FTR added that they feel working for AEW and Tony Khan gives them "the best opportunity to do wrestling proud."

It's hard to argue with any of this from a creative standpoint, as WWE had constantly failed to utilise the duo in any meaningful way since they transitioned from NXT to the main roster, despite their handful of listless Tag Team Championship reigns. Here's hoping that they're more creatively fulfilled working for Khan than they were McMahon.
