AEW's Jim Ross & Taz Shoot On WWE
Both announcers go heavy on the competition...
AEW announcers Jim Ross and Taz discussed comparisons between Dynamite and WWE's NXT on Wednesday's AEW post-show.
Brace yourselves for some hard-hitting comments.
When pressed, JR said that fans should DVR NXT and "watch it later" because "our sh*t's better". He then added that he wasn't being defiant or trying to sound like an "ass kisser", but that it was "just reality". Taz leapt onto the same subject and said he couldn't remember the last time he had watched WWE's product.
Things didn't stop there; the pair soon got onto the topic of fan complaints about them occasionally referencing WWE backgrounds for current AEW stars.
Ross said, "so f*cking what?", and Taz went even deeper by saying, "Ah, there it is again - AEW complaining about WWE. No, dumb sh*ts, what we’re doing is not insulting your intelligence, and we’re acknowledging WWE. They are the ones insulting your intelligence. We bring them up - they’re relevant, we’re relevant".
Both announcers are clearly passionate about AEW life and believe it's the superior product, but some fans will be torn on whether or not continually talking about WWE does any good.
It certainly gets folks talking.
