Former Dean Ambrose says he's not "disappointing fans anymore".

Since leaving WWE earlier this year for the freer fields of AEW, Jon Moxley has not been shy in airing his many grievances over his ex-employers. Pretty much everything came out in the wash during the former Dean Ambrose's now legendary turn on Talk is Jericho, and chief amongst his complaints were an apparent inability to cut promos that weren't scripted to within an inch of their efficacy.

Moxley took aim at his one-time wrestling librettists again this past week, telling Still Real To Us that he felt he was "lying" to WWE fans whenever he cut one of their prescribed promos.

"I had to do these stupid scripts. I’d have to say stuff like, ‘I’m going to eviscerate your skull at Hell In A Cell!’ It’s like, no…I’m not. I know I’m not. I know that there’s not going to be any blood. I’m lying. I’m lying to the fans. I’m selling this violence that’s just not going to happen."

The former New Japan Pro Wrestling United States champ was speaking in reference to his recent feud with Joey Janela in AEW, for which he said his new bosses imposed no restrictions.

"I told [management], 'You realize, just by putting my name with Joey’s together, you’ve created an expectation for insanity. Anything less than balls-out would be a disappointment, and I’m not going to be in the business of disappointing fans anymore.'"

Moxley reserved one last barb for WWE, noting:

"We know what's good, and what's not. We don’t need writers or producers, or anything like that. We know what we are doing."

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
