AEW's Matt Cardona "Hated" THIS Part Of His WWE Run

"I hated working with him professionally!"

New AEW man Matt Cardona admitted during a chat with Fightful that he wasn't keen when Triple H first pitched a tag-team in NXT with Mojo Rawley.

When the then-Zack Ryder stopped to think about it though, he realised that the 'Hype Bros' idea would get some attention if it was Trips' brainchild. That, despite the perceived drop to NXT, couldn't be worse than toiling in job matches on the main roster.

One of Cardona's main issues with the new team is that he didn't know a thing about Mojo. It wasn't like he'd spotted some hungry, up-and-coming talent, then went to WWE management and made the pitch. This was their idea, not his, and he didn't know if it'd be good for his career.

It didn't take long for Matt to see that Rawley was a "hard worker" who "always wanted to learn". Mojo also had some good ideas of his own, but they never really gelled as partners.

Cardona told Fightful that he'd often "face palm" on the ring apron during matches because Rawley was being "too annoying" as a babyface. "I think he's a great heel", Matt stated.
