AEW stars Chris Jericho and MJF have both taken to Twitter to celebrate their "Le Dinner Debonair" segment making the New York Times "Best Performances of 2020” list.

Back in October, both men were the most talked about stars in wrestling for a spell, thanks to their highly entertaining and refreshingly creative song and dance routine mid-steak-dinner.

Now, MJF and Jericho's rendition of Me and My Shadow has found its way onto the New York Times "Best Performance of 2020" list. So, as you'd expect, the two outspoken participants had a thing or two to say about the impressive achievement online.

Former AEW World Champion and leader of the Inner Circle, Jericho, wrote on Twitter:

"HUGE props from @nytimes for @The_MJF & #DinnerDebonair! Once again proof that Pro Wrestling comes in many shapes & forms...but the most important thing is that it ENTERTAINS! In other news, the Louisville Dipsh*t Times is still whining about it..."

The reported brains behind the idea, MJF, received most of the love in the New York Times review and took this moment to pay tribute to his grandfather, who recently died of cancer:

"My grandpa just died of cancer. His biggest love was music, and he led one of the best party bands of all-time. I grew up going to his house every week. I practically lived there. It was always the same. The day would start off with him reading his daily New York Times paper in the morning as we'd eat my grandmother's delicious challah French toast, and then we'd go downstairs and have a nice chat about current events. Later in the evening we'd get in his car, drop the top and he'd blast jazz. I'd listen to the Rat Pack era in awe with him.
He loved every second of mine and CJ's rendition of Me and My Shadow. And so did the New York Times! So basically what I'm getting at is Chris, Me, and the spirit of my Poppa would like to say...EAT S--- TURDS!"

MJF then posted a photo of himself and his grandfather alongside his statement.

Though this is admittedly an impressive achievement and yet another example of AEW making a mark on pop culture, you can bet that young Maxwell Jacob Friedman will take great pleasure in annoyingly reminding us of this feat long after 2020 has reached its conclusion.
