AEW's Next Big Celebrity Wrestling Match Is...
AEW just booked a celebrity attraction match for next week's Grand Slam special.
Rapper Action Bronson will make his professional wrestling debut at next week's All Elite Wrestling Grand Slam event, teaming with HOOK to face 'Cool Hand' Angelo Parker and 'Daddy Magic' Matt Menard of the Jericho Appreciation Society.
This was announced on last night's Dynamite. Bronson and HOOK featured in a training vignette, following up a promo on the previous week's show in which the two parties traded words, setting them up for some kind of 21 September confrontation in Queens, New York City. Now, the match is official.
Bronson has been in AEW's creative orbit since last year, when his song, 'The Chairman's Intent', was first used as HOOK's entrance theme. His alliance with the FTW World Champion was then cemented at 4 September's All Out 2022 pay-per-view, where Action saved HOOK from a two-on-one beatdown by Parker and Menard's hand when the heel duo swarmed after a singles match between Angelo and the young prospect.
Beyond AEW, Action's wrestling affiliations runs deep. His discography is peppered with references to the sport and now, he gets to step through the ropes.
Menard and Parker vs. Bronson and HOOK will air on next Friday's episode of AEW Rampage.
