With WWE earlier this year banning its talent from using third party platforms such as Twitch and Cameo, two-time WWE Champion AJ Styles has detailed a meeting he had with Vince McMahon to discuss that particular topic.

Speaking to TalkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy in an Inside the Ropes interview, Styles revealed that he, Xavier Woods and Sasha Banks all had a meeting with McMahon at WWE’s Connecticut headquarters.

As Styles explained:

“Myself, Xavier Woods and Sasha Banks had a sit-down meeting in Connecticut about this situation. By the end of the meeting, it was determined that this [Styles points to his own face] is intellectual property. We do so well as far as the WWE, and if there’s an opportunity to pay back that [Twitch] money that we worked hard for at different times, we probably should.”

Discussing how he had his own Twitch channel way before the pandemic of this year, Styles added:

“I was already streaming and doing my thing, but it was during my time off and not while working. So, they examined it. I wasn’t happy about it [the ban], no one really was, but it is what it is. I’ll handle it the way that I have to. I’m a team player, he [Vince] is the captain. I’ll follow his lead as far as Vince is concerned.”

The Phenomenal One went on to mention how WWE is currently in talks with Twitch about a deal that would allow WWE talent to return to a WWE-endorsed streaming platform.
