AJ Styles Shoots Hard On CM Punk

"I don't have any respect for [CM Punk]."

CM Punk on Twitter recently claimed that certain people of influence - who to him had stayed suspiciously quiet at a time when their platform actually means something - were "snitching on themselves".

"Lotta people snitching on themselves. When people tell you who they are, believe it. Might be unfortunate and disappointing if you’re a fan of that person, or if it’s your grandmother, but f*ck ‘em. Good bye! (I yield my time, f*ck you.)"

When a follower pointed out that AJ Styles had remained silent on the Black Lives Matter movement, Punk in a since-deleted tweet posted "That one has been obvious for years".

It should be made immediately clear at this point that, although Styles is on record making remarks that one might conflate with certain attitudes - let's just put it that way community?! - his place of birth or political belief system doesn't automatically damn him following an allusion, whether the person making the allusion knows him in some capacity or otherwise.

Styles has now responded, in an interview with Times of India located by POST Wrestling, with the following:

"I will not react at all coming from a guy that I don’t [have] any respect [for] anyway. It doesn’t really matter. Look, my job as a performer is to perform and get the mind off all the things that have happened throughout the world. I am not going to react to people saying ridiculous and stupid things."

It's unclear why Styles doesn't respect Punk, but given that the former Straight Edge Superstar isn't shy, this story, and his side of it, may yet develop further...
