It may be best to take this with a pinch of salt for now, but multiple-time WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio is said to be close to making a WWE return.

Del Rio himself is the source of this story, with him making that bold claim during a recent appearance on the Nos Cayó La Noche TV show.

According to ADR, he has been in talks with Vince McMahon’s sports entertainment juggernaut about returning to the company later this year. A deal has yet to be formally agreed, but Alberto mentioned how the two parties have “rebuilt the bridge” where it pertains to any previous issues Del Rio and WWE have had.

If all goes to plan, Alberto believes that he could return to WWE towards the middle of the year.

ADR has had two previous spells with WWE, and the admittedly talented star is a two-time WWE Champion, two-time World Heavyweight Champion, two-time United States Champion, a Royal Rumble victor, and a Money in the Bank winner.

Of course, Del Rio has had his fair share of controversies over the past several years – not least his toxic relationship with Paige and his very public beef with Triple H.

Whether anything more comes of this, we’ll have to wait and see. If Alberto Del Rio is to believed though, he’ll be dusting off the trunks and returning to WWE before 2020 is out.
