Backstage Update On Toni Storm's AEW Return After Recent Teases (AEW News)
Some mysterious backstage clues suggest Toni Storm's AEW return is in the works.
Recently, members of the media found sneaky tapes backstage at AEW WrestleDream which added context to the 'whodunit' story surrounding 'Timeless' Toni Storm. This creative and ingenious way of continuing the story has people wondering just how long it'll be until the former Women's Champ shows face on TV again.
Fightful Select has provided an update on that, but it might not be the one her biggest fans want to hear. According to their sources, Toni's comeback "isn't imminent", but AEW has been dropping "hints" on exactly who attacked her in the first place.
Those same sources tell Fightful that All Elite has someone specific in mind for the role, "but that it was left open in the event that it needed to be changed". There's still a lot to ponder here, basically. Tony Khan and others are keeping things close to the vest and not committing at time of writing.
There could be further wrinkles to the story depending on who's available once Storm is.
Toni's last match before injury was a 10 minute win over Marina Shafir at the Revolution pay-per-view on 15 March. She's been a huge loss to the women's division for much of the year since, but there's a chance Storm could launch her return before the end of 2026.
Whomever is booked to be outed as the aggressor is set for a cool push, if nothing else. No, it won't be Rikishi. No, he didn't do it "for The Rock". He's a 'Bad Man', but not that bad!
