9. Seth Rollins - $2 Million

Seth Rollins was WWE's undisputed workhorse in 2015, but in November, he went down with a knee injury that forced him to give up the WWE Championship. He was out of action until May, returning at Extreme Rules to attack Roman Reigns, earning a huge reaction from the audience in the process.

The logical thing to do would have been to turn Reigns heel and turn Rollins babyface, but instead, the company stuck to its guns and had them feud as is. The result was not as impactful as it could have been, though Rollins did beat Reigns for the championship. He would lose it to Dean Ambrose minutes later, marking his only championship win of 2016.

Later in the year, Rollins turned face in an attempt to balance the sides on Raw, then feuded with Universal Champion Kevin Owens. Unfortunately, the face turn was too little, too late, and Rollins was booked terribly - not only were his motivations unclear at times, but he was obsessed with tracking down Triple H after "The Game" attacked him (despite the fact that Triple H remained off TV).

Was he worth it? Yes, but WWE certainly didn't get the most out of him.
