Another AEW Star Currently Dealing With An Injury
This major AEW favourite is dealing with a shoulder issue.
With AEW already having several names out of action with various injury issues, Buddy Matthews has revealed that he's currently dealing with a shoulder problem.
Taking to Instagram, the House of Black man detailed how he's "dealing with a shoulder injury which limits a lot of my shoulder movements". Matthews didn't give any further details on the severity of the injury, when he picked it up, or if it'll mean a spell on the sidelines.
As of this writing, AEW has CM Punk out with a broken foot, today saw it reported that Bryan Danielson "probably won't wrestle for quite some time", Adam Cole is generally banged up, Matt Hardy is dealing with knee issues, and Jeff Hardy was of course suspended without pay due to his latest DUI arrest.
That's a lot of talent for any promotion to be unable to call upon, and now it remains to be seen just how bad Buddy Matthews' shoulder problem is. The fact that he's still able to lift weights, as shown in his Insta video, is hopefully a positive sign.
To circle back to Bryan Danielson, tonight's AEW Dynamite will see the American Dragon discuss his status for AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door this Sunday and for Blood & Guts next Wednesday. As per Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio, the belief is that Danielson will miss both of these shows due to the unspecified issue that has kept him out of action since Double or Nothing last month.
