Report: Bryan Danielson "Probably Won't Wrestle For Quite Some Time"

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door has potentially just taken a massive hit.

In potentially devastating news, it appears that the true wrestling dream match mooted for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door could well be off.

That is according to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, who revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Danielson "probably won't wrestle for quite some time, missing Forbidden Door and Blood & Guts".

The situation is shrouded in mystery; while it was revealed that Danielson suffered an undisclosed injury during the Anarchy In The Arena match at Double Or Nothing, it has been hinted that the match with Zack Sabre, Jr. was set to take place this Sunday. Sabre, Jr. himself issued the challenge recently, and Danielson's manager William Regal discussed it openly on the most recent edition of Rampage - at which Danielson's injury status must have been known internally.

Oddly, Danielson is set to discuss his status for both events live on Dynamite tonight. This might have made sense, had the match been confirmed and heavily advertised - it would be good practise to let fans know well in advance that it had been postponed or cancelled - but it has only ever been alluded to.

We will find out for certain on Dynamite tonight - it's always possible that Alvarez was misinformed - but opting for a "Here's a great match you could have seen!" approach, on the go-home show no less, seems very weird.

Fingers crossed for good news.
