Scorpio Sky's AEW contract is up later this month.

On the heels of Max Caster and Anthony Bowens becoming free agents, it looks like Scorpio Sky's time with AEW may well be coming to an end.

Following reports earlier this year that Scorpio's existing AEW deal was expiring in October, Fightful Select now reports that, as of All Out last weekend, he's yet to sign a new contract. By all accounts, it appears Sky is technically still under contract, but that contract is up at some point this month.

An AEW Original, Scorpio Sky was one half of the inaugural AEW Tag Team Champions and a two-time TNT Champion, though it's been a strange few years for the talent when it comes to AEW action. At one point, a fairly regular part of AEW programming, be that as part of SCU, as part of the Men of the Year, or as a singles act, Sky has wrestled only five times for AEW so far this year - four Collision losses and part of a battle royal on the Revolution pre-show - five times last year, zero AEW matches in 2024, and three in 2023. However, the 43-year-old has been a little more active in Ring of Honor these past few years, nowadays being part of SkyFlight and having competed at last week's ROH TV tapings.

Speaking during an appearance on Chris Harris' podcast this summer, Scorpio called his regular absences from TV a "mind F", discussed his frustrations, and said he grew up dreaming of being paid to wrestle, not being paid to sit home and not wrestle. Still, he did also appreciate that he was still getting paid throughout all of this, and noted that he was ready to compete whenever the call came.

Whether Scorpio Sky ends up staying with AEW, that remains to be seen, but at present, his existing contract is up this month and with no new deal in place.
