The WWE Draft 2021 kicks off on tonight's episode of SmackDown (1 October), as the promotion reshuffles its talent rosters for the first time since last October, readying Raw and SmackDown for another "season" of programming.

As previously covered, multiple NXT wrestlers are expected to be involved in an attempt at freshening Raw and SmackDown up. While WWE had only finalised a handful of key moves earlier in the week, several developmental names have been discussed, including the Hit Row stable.

Now, it looks like a recent NXT Title contender could be involved as well.

Per The Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast's Andrew Zarian, LA Knight is one of the NXT 2.0 wrestlers who has been talked about internally. This would come little over two weeks after the former Eli Drake's failed attempt at capturing NXT's top belt, falling in a four-way match won by Tommaso Ciampa, also featuring Von Wagner and Pete Dunne.

Knight, 38, has been with WWE since February 2021. He debuted on the same day his signing was announced, making an appearance on the TakeOver: Vengeance Day Kickoff Show, and has retained a steady television presence ever since.
