Athena Reaches 800 Days As ROH Women's Champion (AEW News)
Athena just broke the 800-day mark as ROH Women's Champion, the longest reign in ROH history.

Athena has hit a new landmark as Ring of Honor Women's Champion, passing the 800-day mark with the gold around her waist.
'The Fallen Goddess' has been ROH Women's Champion for 801 days as of today. Hers is the longest title reign of any kind in ROH history.
A 10 December 2022 victory over Mercedes Martinez saw Athena take ROH's women's crown. Since then, she has mounted 27 successful defences against such opposition as AEW-contract talents in Willow Nightingale, Billie Starkz, Hikaru Shida, and Nyla Rose, plus the likes of Stardom's Thekla and Miyu Yamashita of TJPW.
Starkz had been identified as the one to dethrone Athena at one point. ROH appeared to be building towards the title change at Final Battle 2023, thus concluding the duo's long-running story, though Athena retained in a near-30-minute match. Athena repeated this feat at 2024's Final Battle pay-per-view, raising the question of who, if not Starkz, will finally beat the former WWE star.
Athena's last successful defence came during 15 February's Global Wars Australia tapings, where she faced Alex Windsor. That match airs tonight - Monday, 17 February.
AEW announced Athena's signing in May 2022, debuting her at that month's Double Or Nothing pay-per-view. Though she started in Jade Cargill's orbit as AEW TBS Champion, she has largely competed on ROH since winning the brand's Women's Championship. One would have to imagine that a move to AEW's mainline shows could be on the cards for Athena once she drops the belt, though her work as champion has been an unquestionable highlight on the brand.
