Austin vs Lesnar WrestleMania 32: 10 Most Compelling Factors
6. Austin's Health And Age Holding Up To Lesnar's Style
Stone Cold Steve Austin has not wrestled in twelve years. By the time Wrestlemania 32 comes around, it will be thirteen, and he will be 51 years old come bell time. Austin looks in such good shape but he's ceased being a full time performer for just about as long as Brock Lesnar has been a professional wrestler and beyond.
However, age isn't the biggest factor, Austin's health is. In 1997, Owen Hart went for a sitting Tombstone Piledriver, but dropped Austin on his head, which lead to him being temporarily paralyzed. While he got a few surgeries that allowed him to compete it was on borrowed time. Austin's knees also turned to dust as he was wearing braces on both legs in the latter years of his career.
With his long history of injuries, wrestling Brock Lesnar certainly won't do anything to help the situation, and as mentioned before, he will have to pass the most scrutinized physical in the history of WWE. They should put it on the Network!
One of the most compelling aspects of this story is whether Austin will put his well-being on the line one more time, just to hear the roar of the crowd. A crowd that would feel tremendous guilt in the worst case scenario.
