Backstage News On The Forgotten Sons Being Removed From WWE TV
The group hasn't featured since Jaxson Ryker's tweet drew criticism.
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp has come through with a new report on The Forgotten Sons' removal from WWE television following the Jaxson Ryker Twitter controversy of 2 June.
The trio hasn't featured on SmackDown since the tweet in question and, per the writeup, weren't included in plans for this week's television tapings. A planned program with SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day has seemingly been scrapped, with Kofi Kingston and Big E facing Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura instead, and it doesn't look like any of the group's vignettes will air either.
There is no backstage heat on Ryker's teammates, Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake, who were quick to distance themselves from Jaxson's stance. They are catching some of the backlash but several roster members feel bad for them after the hard work they put forth in NXT to make it to SmackDown in the first place.
Cutler and Blake went as far as coming in for a meeting with WWE Senior Director of Talent Relations Mark Carano and other wrestlers after the incident.
Ryker caught heat for exploiting a time of immense social tension to push his wrestling catchphrase above all else, as outlined by Kevin Owens.
