How does Johnny Gargano's expiring WWE contract impact his wife, Candice LeRae?
Johnny Gargano's current WWE contract is due to expire on 3 December 2021 and as covered earlier this week, the two parties are set to enter negotiations sometime this autumn. This leaves the former NXT Champion's short-term wrestling future in the balance, but what of his wife, Candice LeRae?
Per Fightful Select (who broke the Gargano story), LeRae is bound to a longer WWE contract expiring at some point in 2022. Her deal doesn't align with her husband's.
WWE hasn't frozen Candice's contract during her pregnancy, either, as she is still appearing on NXT television. This was reportedly her own request, with NXT officials pleased by how she has been performing.
LeRae and Gargano's first child is due to be born in February. For now, however, Candice remains an active television character, with both her and Johnny present for Indi Hartwell's wedding to Dexter Lumis on this week's episode of NXT.
Candice has been signed to WWE since January 2018, though she made several onscreen appearances as a freelancer throughout 2017. Johnny, meanwhile, has been with the company for longer, inking his first official deal in April 2016.
