Having made his return to WWE programming at last night's Money in the Bank PLE, there's now an update on the future of Drew McIntyre.

Previously, it was said how WWE and the Scottish Warrior have yet to come to an agreement on a contract extension for the two-time WWE Champion. As it stands, McIntyre will become a free agent at the start of next year, with those same reports claiming Drew is unwilling to pen a new deal until he's presented with suitable creative for his character.

Via PWInsider.com, McIntyre is still yet to sign a new contract with the market leader. In fact, the two parties have yet to actually start negotiations, mainly due to their being so much time before the Scot's current deal expires in early 2024.

Those prior reports of creative unhappiness were addressed by Paul Levesque last night during the post-Money in the Bank press conference. There, the Game said that tying McIntyre down to a new deal is a priority, and he also played down speculation over issues between Drew and WWE.

In terms of McIntyre's absence since WrestleMania 39, Triple H noted how the talent took some time off after the Showcase of the Immortals to deal with a minor injury. While dealing with that, Drew also had "something else" fixed.

Drew McIntyre will be on Raw tomorrow, with him clearly now set to rekindle his rivalry with Gunther - with McIntyre laying out the Intercontinental Champion with a Glasgow Kiss and Claymore Kick at MITB after the Imperium man had retained his gold against Matt Riddle.
