Backstage Update On Keith Lee's WWE Status

New details on Keith Lee, who has been away from WWE Raw since February.

In his own words, PWInsider's Mike Johnson has been led to believe that Keith Lee's ongoing absence from WWE television has more to do with creative than injuries or health.

Johnson reported as much on PWInsider's Elite Audio show.

Lee has endured a stop-start 2021 in WWE. His year started brightly, with the big man challenging for Drew McIntyre's WWE Championship on Raw, though he was pulled from the Royal Rumble pay-per-view at the end of the month. Though Lee returned to Raw shortly after this, he was taken off television again in February - and is yet to return.

The former NXT Champion last wrestled for WWE on Raw's 8 February episode. He was originally pegged to win the United States Championship at Extreme Rules 2021 that month, though Riddle ended up taking the belt with Keith off television.

Last week saw Lee fuel the fires of speculation with a couple of cryptic tweets teasing a "day that can and will define the future." There's currently no word on when, exactly, he might return to television, meaning that for now, he'll likely remain one of the biggest names on WWE's inactive list.
