PWInsider's Mike Johnson believes there's a fair chance that injured WWE star Liv Morgan will return to action during this weekend's Survivor Series: WarGames PLE. However, Johnson has tempered that by suggesting that a January comeback is the most likely outcome for Morgan as she strives to make a splash again post-shoulder injury.

Liv suffered that injury during a match with Kairi Sane on the 16 June episode of Raw. She was visibly in distress as medics ushered her to the back for more treatment, and Morgan hasn't been seen on WWE programming since.

Could Survivor Series 2025 be the ideal re-entry point? Johnson's pitch suggests that Liv could help old flame Dominik Mysterio regain the Intercontinental Title during his rematch with sudden champ John Cena. Of course, Cena is currently at the tail end of his year long retirement tour - Saturday's bout with 'Dirty Dom' will be John's penultimate one before closing the book on his epic career come Saturday Night's Main Event on 13 December.

WWE has been holding a tournament on TV to find out who gets the nod to work Cena's last match.

It's looking likely that JC could drop the IC gold before SNME so full focus is on his retirement rather than any championships. If so, then bringing Liv back into the fold (even temporarily) could provide a workable excuse to get the belt back on Mysterio. Failing that, a January return and spot in the 30-woman Royal Rumble match might well be Morgan's best bet.
