Backstage Update On Mick Foley's AEW Schedule & Status (AEW News)
Mick Foley is expected to be a regular presence on AEW programming.
Having now become officially #AllElite and made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing this past weekend, there are now some details on what Mick Foley's AEW schedule will look like.
Per Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Foley is expected to be a regular part of AEW programming, though he won't be at today's Dynamite show in Philadelphia due to a pre-existing responsibility that had been put in place before he signed with Tony Khan's promotion.
As for the potential for the three-time WWE Champion to lace up his boots and wrestle, Johnson believes that if that were to happen, it would be a long build leading to one big match. Foley had previously laid out his intention to mark his 60th birthday last year by dropping 100 lbs and competing in one more death match. However, while the Hardcore Legend shed that weight, he scrapped those plans for one more match after suffering a concussion training for that return to the ring. More worryingly, the Micker didn't know when or how he'd suffered that concussion, which was the driving factor behind his decision.
For those who may have missed it, Mick Foley appeared on the AEW Double or Nothing pre-show this past Sunday, where he served as co-host alongside Renee Parqeutte.
As it stands, Foley most recently wrestled by making a cameo appearance in the 2012 Royal Rumble. Prior to that, he teamed with Terry Funk in a losing effort against Roddy Piper and Bob Orton at the JCW Legends & Icons show in 2011, and before that, he picked up a Last Man Standing win over Ric Flair in TNA in 2010.
