Backstage Update On Penta After WWE Raw Injury (WWE News)

Having suffered a shoulder injury on this week's Raw, WWE's Penta has provided somewhat of an update on his status.

Taking to X, Penta thanked those who've checked in on him, said that the injury tested his body and spirit, but that it's awakened his strength. The former AEW Tag Team Champion also talked of his respect for Solo Sikoa - his opponent on Monday night - and promised to be back "very soon, stronger, more prepared, and determined to finish what I left pending."

For those who may have missed this week's Raw, Penta took on Solo Sikoa in the quarter-finals of The Last Time Is Now Tournament. Unfortunately, the match was called off after barely four minutes due to Penta injuring his shoulder after a hurricanrana off the ringside barricade. While Penta reportedly wanted to continue on with the match, WWE's medical team wouldn't allow it. As a result, the match was awarded to Solo, who advances to face Gunther in the semi-finals of that tournament.

While Penta doesn't give any time frame for his return to the ring, hopefully that "very soon" means the injury isn't too serious for the hugely charismatic star. Even more so, when a reunion of the Lucha Brothers has been announced to be taking place in AAA on 20 December, with Penta and Rey Fenix teaming for the first time since July 2024 as they're scheduled to face Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano at AAA Guerra de Titanes.
