Bryan Alvarez from The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Toni Storm will be on the bench for "a long time" after suffering an undisclosed injury/injuries. At time of writing, it isn't clear whether or not Storm was struck down by injury during her hard-hitting match vs. Marina Shafir at AEW's Revolution pay-per-view last weekend.

The company did, however, script a quick angle before this week's episode of flagship show Dynamite to explain why Toni wouldn't be wrestling Shafir in a 'No Holds Barred' rematch. Storm was found all bloodied up in her locker room by Luther and Mina Shirakawa - it was Mina who replaced Toni in the bout vs. Marina on TV.

Shirakawa actually won the match too.

The Observer notes that AEW didn't have much of a choice here. Storm was in no condition to wrestle and needs time off immediately. Of course, that puts a dampener on her face to face with the debuting Ronda Rousey. The former WWE star and ex-UFC fighter confronted Toni after her match with Shafir, and it looked for all the world like Tony Khan was about to book Storm vs. Rousey ASAP.

He'll have to put that plan on ice and find something else for Ronda to do. There's no current timeline for Toni's return, which is a major bummer for All Elite considering her star power and importance to the roster. The Observer isn't quite sure whether or not Mina will simply slot into Storm's place on TV going forwards.
