Backstage Update On WWE's Plans For Charlotte Flair

What next for the brand-conquering Queen?

Charlotte Flair

If you hadn't already figured it out, WWE plan on having Charlotte Flair challenge for the Raw Women's Championship regardless of what happens when Asuka defends against Nia Jax at Backlash 2020 this weekend.

This story comes to us from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. Whoever triumphs between Nia and Asuka, the winner gets Charlotte, who scored a tainted victory over 'The Empress Tomorrow' when Jax made her presence felt during their Raw main event this week.

Flair was all over Raw, in fact, featuring in seven of the night's 16 segments, as WWE continues to push her as the female face of the company.

It was reported yesterday that Flair is done with NXT for the time being.

Charlotte was kept protected at TakeOver: In Your House last Sunday, where she lost her NXT Women's Championship to Io Shirai in a Triple Threat that also featured Rhea Ripley. Ripley, the former champion, was pinned by Shirai while Flair had her locked in a Figure Eight, which appeared to signpost Io vs. Charlotte in a singles match. It looks like this is on hold for now.
