Drew McIntyre returned to WWE television on this week's Raw.

Introduced as Ric Flair's final jigsaw piece for his team's upcoming five-on-five battle with a Hulk Hogan-selected side at Crown Jewel, 'The Scottish Psychopath' proceded to battle former King of the Ring opponent Ricochet from pillar to post during and after an exciting victory over the high-flying prospect.

Now, it looks like McIntyre is set to pick up where he left off before hitting a midcard roadblock earlier this year.

The latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio saw Dave Meltzer claim that WWE put Drew over Ricochet to put him over huge for his comeback, with the ruthless post-bout beatdown strengthening this idea. McIntyre, Meltzer claims, is still expected to get a monster push by the company, despite falling down the pecking order not long after the dissolution of his alliance with Dolph Ziggler.

McIntyre had previously been missing from television for two months after undergoing minor surgery. He looked strong in his return and could well be the star of Team Hogan vs. Team Flair, though it's always wise to temper any expectations in this era of half-hearted WWE "pushes."
