Backstage Update On Zelina Vega's Potential WWE Return
Here's who Zelina Vega was filming WWE Performance Center content with.
As reported yesterday, Zelina Vega is expected to mount a shock WWE return just six months after leaving the promotion, as the 30-year-old was seen filming footage at the Performance Center ahead of a potential comeback.
Fightful Select has since updated its original report on the matter. Per the writeup, footage of Vega entering the PC with The Rock's daughter, Simone Johnson, was captured while Zelina was there.
There's no word on whether or not this is related to any plans WWE may have for Vega or if it was merely supplemental footage. Nonetheless, Fightful state that Zelina's return has been in the works for a while.
March brought reports that Vega had signed a "somewhat short-term" contract that would prevent her from working with other promotions. Dave Meltzer confirmed that the deal wasn't with AEW, adding that it may not have even been with a wrestling company.
Vega's WWE departure came in November 2020. Let go from the company for "breach of contract" after refusing to adhere to new restrictions on talent's use of third-party platforms, her non-compete clause expired back in February. She is yet to fully re-emerge in wrestling.
