Backstage Update WWE's Plans For Trish Stratus Return

Trish Stratus was set to appear on Bayley's Ding Dong Hello chat show on this week's episode of Raw, before WWE's creative plans changed.

This is according to Fightful Select. The outlet reports that Stratus, who was at the show, was featured on late rundowns, though she left the building after a change of creative plans. There is currently no word on what prompted WWE to change its mind, or why Trish left Raw.

Becky Lynch is set to team with Trish's fellow Hall of Famer, Lita, to challenge Women's Tag Team Champions Dakota Kai and IYO SKY on next week's Raw. Fightful notes that people within the company have indicated a program with Becky Lynch was in the works for Stratus. Other "high-level stars" may have potentially been involved in the storyline, which was part of WWE's plans as of last week.

Whether or not Trish's big comeback angle will still happen is currently unclear, though the relationship between Stratus and WWE is believed to be "fine."

Trish had been speculated for a role alongside Lita and Trish opposite the Damage CTRL trio prior to the change of plans.
