Backstage WWE Reason Why Shinsuke Nakamura Dropped NXT Title

This isn't over.

In terms of NXT Title reigns, Shinsuke Nakamura actually had a pretty short one at 91 days. Only Sami Zayn had a shorter title run in the promotion with 62 days. Fans were wondering what was up with the relatively quick switch, hoping that Nakamura was getting promoted to the main roster. Sadly, that's not the case.

However, there is a nice consolation prize to be had. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer has reported the title change was done just to keep the feud between the two stars going. They've put on a pair of great matches already, so getting a couple more certainly isn't a bad thing.

The two will be battling in Japan on 3 Dec., which means Nakamura could already win the title back that night in front of his home country.

Also of note is that Meltzer reported that several of the finishes at TakeOver were switched at the last minute, but didn't specify which ones. He believes it may have been the tag title match, as the upcoming Australian tour had TM-61 and The Revival listed to battle for the titles.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW.
