Backstages Notes On What Happened At WWE's WrestleMania 36 Tapings
How did talent feel about taping WrestleMania during a time of crisis?
With the dust from WrestleMania 36 still settling, Pro Wrestling Torch's Wade Keller has come through with a new backstage report on how talent were dealing with the unusual pretaped format.
Keller said the following in his WrestleMania wrapup (h/t WrestlingNews.co):-
"From a number of wrestlers who were at the tapings, I did hear that this was not like a Saudia Arabia [feeling of] ‘let’s just get through this.’ The attitude among the wrestlers was, ‘everyone really wanted to work hard and try to make this work. This did come across as a night where the wrestlers were like, ‘we’re here, we’re not here under protest or resentful or we don’t see this as [not] important.’ I was told the attitude among the crew was ‘lets surprise people.’ That was the attempt and I think it’s clear they were attempting to work hard and salvage this given the tough circumstances.”
Also noted was that no wrestlers held ill will towards WWE for pushing forward with 'Mania at a time of global crisis.
All of this is great to hear and as Keller points out, it was reflected on the show, with the majority of WrestleMania 36's cast entering high-effort performances.
