Beyond The Mat - What Happened Next?
1. The Rock
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson went from cooler-than-thou heel to the face of the company, carrying professional wrestling through Stone Cold Steve Austin's injury and beyond, before an unbelievable main event at WrestleMania X-Seven. In 2002, he had his first lead role in The Scorpion King and would spend the next few years alternating between wrestling and acting as his star rose in Hollywood. By the time he joined the cast of The Fast and The Furious franchise in 2011, his films were making hundreds of millions of dollars each year.
He is now the most successful mainstream crossover wrestler the world has ever seen, working constantly in film and television. He makes sporadic appearances for the WWE and is proud of his wrestling background. Though his appearance in Beyond The Mat portrays him as over-eager in his punishment towards Foley and seemingly uncaring towards his colleague, the two quickly made amends and Bruce Prichard has stated it is possible that Rock did check on Foley when he was injured and this was simply not caught on camera or possibly not remembered due to Foley's concussion.
Dwayne Johnson is already signed on to star in blockbuster movies for the foreseeable future. Despite this, he has hinted he may enter politics at some point. Given his accomplishments so far, we wouldn't put anything past him.
